Mary Lou  --  That's really weirrrrrrrd!   But, heavens no, don't throw them out.  The next time they bloom, they may be absolutely normal.  But I'd say that what they're doing now gives some promise of their being rebloomers.  And yes, that's a "pineappling" kind of fan, but usually a single bloom just barely peeps out of the center, often not fully developing, and usually not showing any stalk at all.  No need to cut the stalk, until it's apparent that none of the buds will bloom.  --  Griff

Never had this happen before.  Only 2 seedlings from this cross (my pinkish NOID X Sostenique) Both are trying to maiden bloom in mid-90s heat with no rain.  A slew of tiny little buds and zig-zag branches on both.  Should I compost them?  Cut off these stalks?  What is the chance they will perform normally in future years?
