Re: CULT: Is this pineappling?


That has happened occasionally here.  There is a term for it but I can't remember off-hand.  Each of those joints will actually send out roots and you can plant them.  the will grow and be clones of the mother rhizome.  wish i could remember the term, I want to say florabunda or floriferation...something like that.  very uncommon.

Never had this happen before.  Only 2 seedlings from this cross (my pinkish NOID X Sostenique) Both are trying to maiden bloom in mid-90s heat with no rain.  A slew of tiny little buds and zig-zag branches on both.  Should I compost them?  Cut off these stalks?  What is the chance they will perform normally in future years?
