Re: 2007 J.I.

Ok.........here's to the Japanese Iris growing experts??????????????????   What is the key to keeping these babies alive and growing well?  I would love to try out one of this cultivar!
Thanks for any help that you have in advance!  Have a great day!

Linda,
To the best of my knowlege (which is limited re: J.I.) , they need water and lots of manure!  Dig down 2 feet and give them lots of soil goodies before planting.  I also thiOkk Chad mentioned top dressing but I am not sure.  Ask an expert, I know they are out there.
This is my third try at growing J.I.'s,  I failed the first two times.  It's best I stick to bearded, siberians, and spurias They really grow well for me.

Vicki, that is beautiful!  Thanks for sharing the photos.  Do Japanese iris need a lot of water?  That is one cultivar I have never grown.
