Thanks for the photo....now THAT looks like a nice iris.  Hard to tell from the photos, but I don't think

they are the same iris.

 

Was it triple socketed on top ?

It had three flowers in the top and because it was so crowded they all came out distorted.  In addition,

a lot of the flowers had no stamens........and it definitely is not navy blue.

 

Perhaps, I should check with Schreiners (although it was a freebie).

It was triple socketed.  Forgive the photo.  I am not good with the camera & it doesn't do nice close up pics like mosty I see.  It is about 4 yrs old & technology has improved however my abilities have not.  The hand is to show the size.  I got this one from a reputable grower but, I suppose we all make mistakes. My hand width is 6 1/2 " for comparison.

Here is another shot of the same stalk, planted last Sept.
