Re: Black Andromeda pedigree

  • Subject: [iris-photos] Re: Black Andromeda pedigree

Will Plotner, friend and hybridizer who lived near Chet Tompkins, worked
for him for more than a decade on weekends, says the black self I am
growing is the 'real' BLACK ANDROMEDA.

I asked him if he had any thoughts about what the true parentage was.

He said his guess had always been CATAWBA RUBY by EBONY ECHO.

Will says it's ok to share that information as long as everybody
recognizes that's only a guess.

Chet was known to be secretive and has been thought to be intentionally
misleading about published pedigrees.

For what that's all worth <g>
