Donald - That must one of the wild spiderworts since it is not any of the cultivated varieties I have. They are much less invasive and do just fine in a mixed garden (avoid Concord Grape though). If you still want some, you can cut down a plastic milk carton to about a 3" tall ring and plant it around a bunch of it.
