I don't know about the similar color part, Linda, but there are a couple of other showy seedlings that are challenged in the height department that might be candidates for a really wild cross.  A thought for next year.  Thanks.  --  Griff

Is this a first year seedling?  Perhaps it will change a little in coming years growth.  It is quite lovely.  What if you crossed it with a similar color iris that is shorter and stalkier!  Is that a word?  LOL   Know what I mean?  Thicker, heftier!  :)
