I've
not heard of catalina cherry -- no surprise, seeing as how I'm on the East
Coast. I checked out some images and had a "bingo!" reaction. Greengage
plum ...maybe...quite possibly. I wasn't entirely confident about
my suggestion of plum to begin with; OTOH those fruits do look like
immature plums, and the leaves and the bark are similar to those I've seen on
plum trees. Seems to me your most accurate way of determining ID
should be empirical...
