Title: Re: [iris-photos] [Fwd: Moraea iridiodes] Francesca,
Got to:
http://www.secretseeds.com/acatalog/index2.html?http%3A//www.secretseeds.com/acatalog/DE.html&CatalogBody
Scroll down to Dietes. Is that what you were thinking of? I am thinking that is an “African Iris” as opposed to the Fortnight lily.
Thx
John

I think it is called either Dietes iridoides or Dietes vegeta. One of those two is a little different in that it has a dark spot on the falls and the flower is more cream colored where the other one is pure white with lavender style arms.

Anyone help with this? I think Butterfly iris is another name for what we here in CA call a Fortnight Lily.
We have a seedling of a Moraea iridiodes that we would like to find out if anyone knows the plant. Attached is a photo of 'Butterfly Iris' next to the unknown plant. Can you help? <> <> <>
