Well, I have done a little more research and it seems that African Iris, Fortnight lily, butterfly iris, Dietes iridoides and Dietes vegata are all forms or synonyms for the same thing.

I think it is called either Dietes iridoides or Dietes vegeta. One of those two is a little different in that it has a dark spot on the falls and the flower is more cream colored where the other one is pure white with lavender style arms.

Anyone help with this?  I think Butterfly iris is another name for what we here in CA call a Fortnight Lily.

We have a seedling of a Moraea iridiodes that we would like to find out if anyone knows the plant. Attached is a photo of 'Butterfly Iris' next to the unknown plant.  Can you help? <>  <>  <>
