You missed my point - the folks on the iris-species discussion forum and
possibly on iris-talk have missed out on this discussion and future
folks who are interested in the subject are unlikely to find the
discussion buried in the photos archive.
The iris-species discussion forum (I forget whether that's a Yahoo
group, or hort net, but it's archived at hortnet) was started, for
whatever reason, because the folks with that primary interest didn't
want to stay on iris-talk.
People interested in learning more about the taxonomy and genetics of
the 'species' germanica will first be most likely to search the species
archives, then iris-talk. If they think they already know what "it"
looks like, they'd have no reason to look in the photos archives.
If you're going to put that much effort into an in depth discussion, why
not put it where people can find it?
That's a separate issue from gumming up the photos list with a bunch of
text discussion.
I notice everybody is ignoring the list master's request to cross post
these threads....
