After shelling mature pods & letting the seeds dry for a week or so,
they get tied in sections of stockings and soaked in the toilet tank for
10 days, then the entire soggy mess of stockings are wrapped in paper
towels, put in a loosely closed plastic baggie, & refrigerated for 2
months, then planted into these small 4 cell plastic containers that
come with bedding plants.

A few seedlings germinate fairly quickly.  After about a month indoors
(unheated enclosed sunny porch), they look like this.
