Re: RE:PHOTO:TB: Dawn of Change

Colleen,

You're right.  I think the colors are a little muddy, even if it's not pronounced that way in the photos we see.

Floppy form?  Well, from you photo, it looks fine. But from the photo I posted the other day, Dawn of Change is floppy, indeed!

I'll be keeping it for a while anyway . . . who knows what it has in store for seedlings.

I find Dawn Of Change a very unsatisfactory iris, It grows quite well but the colour always looks a bit dirty and the form is fairly floppy, For me it totally lacks the clarity of Crowned Heads. This is the best photo I've ever managed to get of it.

Adam, what is that saturated pink in the left backfield?  It looks very interesting!

Dawn of Change certainly does appear to begin compare to Keppel's CROWNED HEADS, WINTRY SKY, or ALPENVIEW.

I can report, incidentally, that ALPENVIEW is extraordinarily vigorous and healthy here in the fringes of Linda Mann's aptly described "Vale of Despair."  Few varieties thrive like Alpenview has.  It looks more like what I expected from Irises from my Idaho experience.
