Re: FW: HYB: First new seedling blossom

Hi Francelle,
The color combination on your newest seedling is very attractive. I'd be proud too!!  Keep up the good work!  I'd like to see a front angle photo of this one too.

Wow, the irises in Phoenix are already beginning to bloom?!  I don't expect any bloom here for at least 3-4 weeks. I hope we get to see more of your seedlings.

Subject: [iris-photos] FW: HYB: First new seedling blossom

Hello, Everyone,

I promised to show my first Cloud Reflection baby, and here it is.  I?m as excited as a new grandma!  You can tell I?m just an amateur pollen dauber to be excited about the first bloom of a seedling, but I remember someone said that if he ever got to where he wasn?t excited seeing a new seedling open, he would quit hybridizing, because it wouldn?t be fun anymore.

I?m including pictures of the proud parents.  It has CR?s form but not its size.  The picture of 7636A makes it looker bigger than it is, and the picture of Cloud Reflection doesn?t show its 7-9 inch fall span.  Anyway I have reason to hope that this is another rebloomer.  It has a sibling showing a bright orange color in the bud that will open next week sometime, not surprising as Oktoberfest is in Barbara My Love?s genealogy.

First blossom to open is one on the lowest branch, a little unusual.  Top bud will open tonight or tomorrow.  Unfortunately, the background includes the tomato cage and bird net I have to use to protect it.
