Well, we are both in AZ. I'm North of her by a 100+ miles, so
I don't know.
I just know mine, which was it's first year-really struggled. I'm
not sure why.
Other iris right beside it did fine. That's why I'm thinking
of moving it after
this season.
This shows a little. This photo was taken at noon. The others
were earlier in the morning.
This iris is on west side of my house, so sun in morning for this
particular bed has totally different lightening. (In winter it just
gets some afternoon sun) Like I say though, it just wasn't has
healthy as I thought it should be. I'm going to move it to front
of house, so in time of year that it seems to bloom, it will get
morning sun and some shade in afternoon.

[iris-photos] PhotoTB: Fit for a King
Good Morning
Linda,
Your photo of
?Fit For A King? Iris does NOT have the lighter rim on the outside of
the falls like in Margie?s photo? Is this caused by
the growing conditions in AZ compared to
OR?

Margie,
Fit for a King did bloom for
me last year, but not very well. I'm hoping it will do
better this year.
The thing was it bloomed
really late. These photos were taken in late May.
And it being that time of
year, got a little back spray from the sprinklers that we turn on
some by that time of year.
This year I'm going to try to
be more cautious about that, especially for these darker
velvets.
It really puts too many spots
etc. Then if it gets healthy, I'm going to move it.
What I liked about Fit for a
King was it's beard. And overall shape.
