I have to admit that is true here in TN also.  I bought carnival ride 2 times and lost it both times.  One of them puttered on for 2 years before it died off, but just did really poorly in my area.  Other iris around it thrived, so I was quite disappointed in it and didn't attempt a third try! :)

RING AROUND ROSIE goes much better for me than CARNIVAL RIDE does. RAR is quite vigorous here AND I'm finding it to be a great parent. So far the seedlings I've seen in the last year have proven to be exceptional in the unique patterns it produces as well as in their over-all health and vigor.

Margie  --  A particularly interesting thing about this spectacular iris is that it is a seedling of siblings itself crossed with a seedling of siblings with the same parentage, so, very inbred.  Ring Around Rosie is its own more famous sibling.  --  Griff
