Mark,

Save and freeze some of that pollen from your rebloomer so you can use that pollen when your spring irises bloom.  One can purchase some of those clear gel capsules they sell (in bags of 50 or 100 count) at the vitamin stores.  Remove the pollen anthers; place them into a capsule, write the name of the pollen parent on a piece of paper and then tape it to the capsule, then place the capsule(s) into a small empty prescription bottle (or similar. Those small prescription bottles will hold about 12-15 capsules), and place in the freezer. When an iris is blooming that you want to pollinate just remove the capsule with the pollen you wish to use and apply it.  :-)

G'day Margie,

The plant does seem to be really healthy with good increase.

Unfortunately, it is the only iris blooming in my garden at the moment.

Mark - - it looks like a really healthy plant.  Have you crossed anything on it yet (since it is blooming now)?

G'day Francelle, Margie, Mike, Griff, Ross and Adam:

Thank you all for your comments.

I've attached another two photos of my seedling which show a more true color.

Adam, after your comments I took another look at the seedling and discovered that all three stalks are from the same fan. The plant has put on seven increases to date and I'll be interested to see how it performs come Spring ( September).

A number of other seedlings from the same cross have put on good increase, but none have shown any sign of putting up stalks.

Regards,
Mark - Australia
