Hello to everyone, so sorry to be jumping on late with this one but what we use and it works awesome and is so cheap,  we use metal blinds and a #2 pencil!! One year I had hundreds of iris marked with them and went out to the bed to check them, some were in pots BUT NONE had a tag that I could read. I learned that permanent pens are not permanent and that some permanent ink fades faster than others.

In Ca. where the iris are already in bud!

Linda,

I notice that you are using recycled Venetian blinds for markers. What do you use to mark them with? The California sun fades mine blank in less than a full year.

Mike, you asked about MOUNTAIN SUNRISE and FALL ENTERPRISE.

Back row left is MOUNTAIN SUNRISE, right is LORD OF RINGS.

Front row left is RED ROCK CANYON, middle FALL ENTERPRISE, right LEST WE
FORGET

All were planted fall 2008, except a new purchased start of RED ROCK
CANYON was added fall 2009.

Figure a picture is worth more than words.
