Re: short stalks

Happening here too Tony, probably a weather related thing.  Very long cold spring with flashes of nice days in between.  How cold were you yesterday morning?  we were down to 38 here at the ranch, very cold for late spring.  another possibility is some sort of chemical damage by herbicides.  did you spray any herbicides on or near your iris this year?  a late application of pre-emergent will sometimes stunt and twist stalks.

I have some iris that are putting short stalks out this year that are usually very long. Can anyone tell me why that is . I live in central California if that will help .The bloom also don, t open right. But then other stalks on the same plant may grow out normal. Someone please help me out it is messing up my bloom, s. This is the first year that they have done this.   Tony
