File Sizes

Just a note about posting photos and their file size.  A 90KB file 
takes about 35 seconds to download at 28kbs over a modem. I realize 
that a lot of phone lines support higher speeds, but that is a good 
data point.

a 4" X 5" picture at 72 dpi at high quality compression yields a file 
size of about 20 KB and takes 7 or so seconds to download at the rate 
above.

Please try to keep your file sizes between 40 and 80 KB by controlling:

the resolution (dpi)
picture size
amount of compression

That will still assure that you get a good looking picture on the 
screen.
