Must be your Texas sun but your stuff sure looks different to mine :-),
Here's my photo of Bev Sills. Glad yours grows vigorously, mine is so weedy,
but I believe it prefers alkaline soils. Ours pH is only 6.

this is a popular variety. It is a seedling of VANITY, the Dykes Medal
winner for 1982. It is a most vigorous grower with extremely high budcount
and perfect branching. HC '78; HM '81; AM '83. Dykes Medal '85.
