RE: CULT: watering

That’s certainly a beautiful healthy bunch of irises.  It looks as though you have a lot of mulch around them to hold in the moisture.

Hi Loic

I'm in Victoria, Australia. Here we are on stage 4 water restrictions. This means we cant water our gardens at all unless it is used water from the house. My Iris get no water other than natural rain fall  and still look healthy and wonderful, we have had less than 1/2 the average rainfall for this year to date. My potted Iris put their roots down through the bottoms of the pots and ground them selves, they also are doing fine. we had similar conditions last year as well and I still got an amazing show of blooms. Many of my first ever iris I found by the sides of roads under gum trees, some in the hottest driest places, thriving on neglect. They are tough. Attached is a photo of my first season 2 years ago when I moved them all here. It took me 12 months to finish planting these Iris , I finished in the September and they started flowering the following month.
