Those are really neat! You've gotten me very interested in the species irises! How hardy are they? I'm technically in zone 3b, but I grow things that are zone 4 and 5 with care.

I like the magenta, violet, and dark brown colorings of I. stolonifera, but through selecting clones and intercrossing them, I wanted to soften the coloring of the standards of I. stolonifera.  Two seedlings I've liked and kept are pictured below.

This seedling has lighter cocoa-colored edges on the standards.  The blue centers are wide and a light color that has some pinkish lavender influence:
 
 
This seedling has milk chocolate edging on the standards, and the blue of the standards is closer to blue.  The fall colors on this second one are darker:
