I know what you mean - I take top down photos to help evaluate width and
how open/closed the standards are. Width (at least in my seedlings)
seems to go hand in hand with strong substance, open standards, and
those horizontal falls. :-(

Very pretty, Donald. I'm glad you keep doing a few TBs.

One of your pasture "Schreiner blues" has done well here in the vale
(#10, I think), and while it's too early to bloom well most years, has
several stalks and buds this year.

<They really aren't designed to be viewed looking down, are
they? Everytime I take a photo they just look weird and deformed to me.
Not at all the effect growing, but sort of useful for demonstrating the fall
width.
