This photo does look like an I. x germanica to me, and it is colored much like the more solid purple types such as 'Crimson King', 'Kochii', or 'Nepalensis'.   Clones which usually get distributed as I. germanica in the US are often bluer, and usually have lighter standards than falls.  It is not 'Florentina', unless it is one of the sports that has changed colors (ie. 'Madonna'), but from what little I've seen, those are apparently usually lighter and also are bluer with more difference in the coloring of the standards vs. falls.
