<<RC has rebloomed for me ever fall since it arrived here in 2005-2006>>
Rose, I'm glad it's been performing well for you. It's always dependable here, even in the bad years. Your report with the seedling is encouraging.

Hi LInda- Appreciate the info on Tea Leaves.
I also found 2 more seedlings with fall stalks forming-very late, but very encouraging, today. One was from a cross with Betty's - Returning Chamleon. RC has rebloomed for me ever fall since it arrived here in 2005-2006. On a slow day in 2008 it was blooming next to Coral Chalice and I just couldn't resist - seed count wasn't great-maybe 20, seedlings that survived transplant about 5. They are all healthy, nice increase, but did not spring bloom this year. So again, maybe not true "rebloom" but encouraging.
The other cross was out of Innocent Star-will have to look up the pollen parent. It was also a 2008 cross.

Re: TEA LEAVES - it's a really good performer here as far as survival
and putting up stalks go, but the few crosses I've made with it have had
some problems. Some crosses have been weak, but that seems to be true
for everything (i.e., some crosses nick well, others don't), so I don't
fault it much for that. But most have had poor to very poor germination
here so far. I suspect that's a problem during seed set/development
here tho and probably? wouldn't be true in slightly better growing
conditions. It's not particularly fertile here.
Bud count has been ok in seedlings so far and placement isn't as bad as
on TL, but not great.
