YEA!!! THANK-YOU!! You made my day! I always
thought that Witch of Endor was a border iris..no?... if it is a border would
you want to give it Miracle Gro.....I thought that would make it grow out of
class.
This has been fun! Thank-you Griff!

Congratulations! You finally guessed âWitch of Endorâ. And
hereâs the secret of its growth: Doug tells me that he watered it every
2 weeks, and gave it a little Miracle Gro or all-purpose flower food each
time. How âbout that? -- Griff

At the Fredericksburg Area Iris Societyâs harvest dinner on Saturday,
there were about 17 irises on display brought in by various members.
As soon as I entered the hall, one stalk stood out -- a
large-flowered red. When I saw its identity, I was amazed.
Iâve grown this flower myself and never saw it this fine. The falls
of the top bloom are 7â across. I asked Doug Chyz, who had brought
it, if I could glean some pollen. He said, âTake the stalkâ.
So, here it is (attached). Itâs not a glamour photo --
the falls have been removed from a spent bloom and the top bloom is marred
from travel, but I just wanted to present it as an example of what this
cultivar can look like. Anyone guess its name? --
