Oh, the memories!  I'd forgotten about the cross I had on Best Bet in 2006.  Best Bet X Violet Miracle. The pod lasted for 2-3 weeks but not long enough to make mature seed.  I save anything that makes it to near full size and about 4 weeks.  Sometimes it doesn't work, but most of the time it does.  The pod, itself, rotted.  Impossible to save.  Then the plant disappeared. That was quite the spring. 

I have seedlings from Hello Darkness x Tara's Choice.  One looks like it might be making a stalk but it can't make it before the first freeze.  I liked what bloomed in the spring.  Even have seedlings. 

Guess I don't want Best Bet again, after all.  Sorry! 

Rain came early.  It's already rained over an inch.

As i said after when i posted the cross Hello Darkness X What Again, i am much more pleased with these seedlings than with the ones from Best Bet.
On top of it, Best Bet is not a very reliable iris because it rots, and when it doesn't all rot and you manage to get 3 pods on the surviving ones, then you lose the pods because, for no reason i can think of except only to anoy me, Best Bet starts to rot at the base of the stralks holding these 3 pods!
 
i just hate it!
 
Don't bother with it, there are much better ones anyway nowdays!

Okay!  This isn't fair!  You managed to make me jealous.  Best Bet will not live in my garden.  I've lost it a number of times, and I'd given up trying.

This IB, sdlg TD06-01Lre = ( Best Bet x What Again) is the only one to rebloom, so far, out of 24 sdlgs from this cross.
 
 
It's with the same cross that Lowell Baumunk got Midsummer Night's Dream and Barrel House Blues, and i wanted to see if i could get anything interesting from it too.
Well, guess i've been lucky!
