this pig's ready for market


I hope the jumbo size of the grubs I'm finding in this area means there are 
plentiful nutrients for iris rhizomes.  The native solidago in the second 
picture is a sure sign that cool temps and winter are not too far in the 
future.  A plant with an undeserved bad rep, it really nice this year.  Must 
have appreciated all the rainfall earlier in the year, though I'm not seeing 
much in the pasture.  Those I've left here in the yard are really happy.
