I know a lot of species fans have many other interests as well. I
also enjoy wild flowers and combine that love with searching for
anything unusual. Such as a may-apple with pink flowers or a variegated
helenium (sneeze weed). Yes, I've found both. But the real payoff is
finding a mess of morel mushrooms.
My point, and I do have one. Has anyone in the middle of the USA been
mushrooming? Did you find any, and how bad were the ticks.
I just went looking in my neighborhood creek and found no morels and
amazingly no ticks. Actually it's been so dry and cool I have not gone
into the woods much this spring. Else wise the timing looks right.
Pawpaws are in bloom, the oak leaves are as big as a squirrels ear,
etc. Ha.
