Iris brevicaulis... tentative success

Last fall I planted 4 starts of Iris brevicaulis along a pond at local
park. Today, while hiking, I found at least 1 has survived. I'm hopeful
it can establish a small colony there. The original genetic material comes
from a wild population just a few miles away.

This spring at another park, called Wetlands Park, I introduced some seeds
of Iris virginica var. shrevei (also locally native genetic
material). They have numerous ponds, but I focused only on one small one.

Just call me "Johnny Irisseed".
