Re: I. alexeenoi

Cindy and Juri; I have grown the clone that Cindy has
many years ago. It is much larger in every respect
that a normal pumila. I need to check, but I believe
it was sent to the USA to Robert Schreiner by a noted
Russian Iris authority and the identity has probably
never been questioned these many years. Since the real
alexeenkoi had never been seen here, there was
probably less reason to doubt its authenticity. I have
been very busy and have not had a chance to review any
of my accumulated notes but the question is now, what
is the plant we currently have? It is certainly very
different than a normal pumila, much larger in every
respect, even considering how variable pumilas can be.
What a wonderful new mystery to work on!!!
