Re: Disaster


Sorry to see this, but most, at least, is probably not permanent, but who wants to do without spring. My Trillium nivale has recovered from several very cold days, down to 17 F. but my Hellebore niger looks pretty shabby. Daffodils on south side of the house lost the starch in their stems and are bent over. mini bulbs are fine. Other things not up enough to suffer much damage. There are advantages to living in this cold country--the ground stays frozen and everything is later coming up. No iris up enough to suffer from the cold.            Joan Cooper, Minnesota            Zone 4

It's hard to even look at the garden.
All flowering trees and shrubs had new growth
and flowers destroyed.
95% of the garden is badly damaged or worse!
