irises on Nova

Hi folks,
I happened to be watching Nova on PBS last night, an episode called "First
Flower". It was about the hunt for fossils and other evidcence of the
earliest flowers back in the Jurassic, and included quite a lot of footage
shot in China. I saw, I think, I. chrysographes and I. delavayi in some of
the shots. There were also a few minutes of Dan Hinckley looking like a
kid in a candy store as he examined a lot of cool plants. There really
were a lot of very interesting flowering plants shown, from many different
genera. Keep an eye out for it--it sure beat looking at the slush in my
own garden right now.
Ken
