This picyure on tge species website is not Iris
songarica but lactea. about 20 years ago seed was sent
to Frank Kalich labeled Iris songarica. since no one
in this country had seen songarica and it was a
different appearing lactea the identification was
unquestioned. It has since been widely distributed as
songarica but it remains Iris lactea. Unfortunately I
know of no pictures that show a closeup of songarica
flowers but the parts are much more narrow than this
lactea.
