Germinating Iris Seeds in Paper Towel

 

I was just wondering if anyone has tried germinating iris seeds wrapped in damp paper towel and then placed in either a plastic baggie or a jar.
I tried this quite a few years ago with Iris ensata seeds and it seemed to work well; the key is to get the germinated seeds into a soil medium as quickly after germination as possible.
