Rod,
      That is an interesting bloom.  But, from what I see about the species, it has a growth cycle similar to the Spurias, and thus would not have a chance down here.

Irises are popping out all over in Texas finally. Here is my first ever bloom on I. anguifuga 'Snake Bane'. It was planted last fall, and seems to like it in my new spuria bed. It was a little hard to catch in 20 mph sustained winds.
