Re: I. anguifuga 'Snake Bane'

Nice. I just planted one in the fall as well - I'm trying it in light deciduous shade so the tree roots can give it a dry summer dormancy. Hopefully some snakes will take up residence once it forms a clump, just to belie the name.

Hi All,

Irises are popping out all over in Texas finally. Here is my first ever bloom on I. anguifuga 'Snake Bane'. It was planted last fall, and seems to like it in my new spuria bed. It was a little hard to catch in 20 mph sustained winds.
