RE: unknown irid


It is a "Blue-eyed Grass" or Sisyrinchium species, very typical looking; 
however, I do not know which species.  If it is native to the US, you may be 
able to key it out in the North American Flora treatment of the genus, which 
can be found on line.  However, if you don't know where the plant 
originated, it may be difficult to figure out.

I never thought one would do well in my yard in NM, but one is reseeding all 
over the place now.  It also came in a pot, from a local native plant 
nursery.  I figured it out, but forget the name off-hand.  Mine is not not 
the same as yours however,
