is anyone out there familiar with I. latifolia?

Hello Jean, as far as I am aware all the cultivars are just color selections. 'Queen of The Blues' and 'Mont Blanc' come to mind and are the most common. As you can find in any decent book on species Iris;  I. latifolia is easily raised from seed but all plants eventually succumb to a virus that manifests as spotting and streaking. I don't remember reading about curling of the petals.
I have grown it in Kansas City for a number of years from Dutch bulb sources. None have developed any viral symptoms yet. It has been suggested that our dreadfully hot summers and cold winters keep the virus at bay, only time will tell. Howeve! r, my unfavorable climate also denies me an abundance of flowers.
