Well, this is interesting. I think we are all going to try it!  Thanks for posting the link. I wish I had some of those very old PCI seeds from a couple of years ago to test this method. 
I have to decaffeinate my tea now, so the first cup can go to the seeds after it’s cooled off.

New Zealand is going to have an iris convention. It is difficult for them to import plants, but they can import iris seeds. The American Iris Society has sent them a lot of seeds of new hybrids, and the New Zealanders want to get them growing quickly.

Someone has reported a method of soaking seeds in tea which helps quick germination.

I am going to try this method myself, as I find iris seeds take a very long time to germinate (except for PCIs). I drink lots of tea, so the iris seeds can share each pot with me.
