Thank you for the warning. Here in Florida, it is weedy in some places, but not in others. In nearby Crystal River, on the Gulf of Mexico coast, the ground doesn't get as dry, and the freezes are not as harsh. There, Freesia laxa can be a weed, and is frequently found growing in people's turf.
Where I am, inland, and up on some low rolling hills, the freezes are often severe for Florida standards, and the soil gets extremely dry in the late spring. Here, Freesia laxa has been in decline, even with irrigation.
