ï Iris dichotoma grows for about 5 years or so from seed for me before it
dies. Only because I don't have any alternatives, it grows in rich heavy
clay soil that dries and cracks in summer. Pretty much full sun, but there
is usually a thin layer of shredded leaf mulch. Regarding wild
haunts, remember that it may be that where it is found is where it competes
best, not necessarily the only conditions it likes/tolerates.
ÃPardancanda norrisii, as one might
expect, is more persistant.
