Don't know for sure..the hybridizers are listed as Steele/Wood. The Steele is Katharine Steele from Charlotte NC but don't know the Wood.

Greg,
        Where did FRECKLETEC originate?  Maybe it needs a warmer or colder climate?  As for PALTEC, it was wonderful in Kentucky, but probably would not like Florida.  Darn!
