If any success at all, it might be with the
'preferential-vernilization' rebloomers. That is the ones that rebloom
only in very warm areas as California and Australia.

Since Albicans blooms regularly for you, you have the genetic material
to start with.

Someone else mentioned rebloomers, but... It looks like that
vernalization is the 'big wall' against growing bearded Irises [except
Iris albicans which will grow here]. All attempts at growing
rebloomers too have failed. Some lasted a few years but then bloomed
out.
It appears the 'catch' is the chilling hours issue. The
chilling
hours to support vernalization simply are not here. I don't know if it
would ever be possible to breed a lower chilling need for vernalization
into the plants, or not. However, if it were possible, it probably
would be at the expense of winter hardiness.
