Re: Iris graminea seeds question

It's embedded in the email rather than attached. It's some problem at your end. You can see the photos on the SIGNA web site: http://signa.org/index.pl?Display+Iris-graminea+2

For future reference there are photos of the seeds of many of the iris species in the species database on the website: http://signa.org/index.pl?Database

I did not find the photo attached.  Did anyone else find it?   Betty G.

Attached is a photo of I. graminea seed that is normal.  There are a couple of variations, but I do not believe either have arils.

Subject: [iris-species] Iris graminea seeds question

I ordered seeds of the "plum scented Spuria" Iris graminea. Normally I open and inspect the package, but I put
it aside until I was ready to plant. All 5 seeds in ther package had white Arils, that is, a ring or collar at one end of the seed.
Surely I. graminea is a Spuria, and not an Aril, or arilbred? Or is this the normal appearance of this species' seeds?
Hope someone can help, I have a feeling I am going to be in for a surprise when they bloom.
