Re: iris tectorum crosses

I am also looking into crossing a diploid bearded with a tectorum. I had mentioned to Clarence Mahan  and he did recommend using a diploid. To this end I ordered May Allison and Quaker Lady from Greg Mcullough.

Checking SIGNA indices,  bulletins 42-1511, 1523, 1526, and 44-1746 reference Paltec...
xx-xxx represent bulletin nr. and page.

SIGNA Checklist says: (Denis 1928) A dainty sky-blue self of rare beauty, having both the crest of the crested tectorum and the beard of the bearded Pallida, the beard being superimposed on top of the crest.  2n = 26 Iris tectorum (2n-28) x Edwina (2n+24) ( Iris tectorum Maxim x MTB; despite the name Edwina was probably not an Iris pallida.

Not much info:

Lots of luck and let's keep each other apprised of any great advances.  ;>)
