Joan, Woolong is a selection of tectorum.  Collected and named after the 
Woolong valley.  Iris city gardens has a picture of it:

Al, I have paltec, and It's foliage seems much closer to MTB than pallida, 
So, I'd definately agree with you.  This plant is alot smaller than pallida, 
or Woolong.  It also got planted last summer.  Hoping to see them all 
bloom this spring.  I hope to put some SDB, IB, and MTB pollen on 
Woolong.  The IB crosses are real iffy, but some of my favorite iris are 
IB's, so I can't resist.  If Woolog blooms alot (fingers crossed) I'll try every 
flower with something different.  I'll post if I get any takes.

And what is woolong? I'd also like info on crosses with tectorum.
