Babblesome messages are often the most enjoyable to read!  I'm curious how you've had such bad drought when I haven't here in Cincinnati.  I would have guessed our climates to be nearly identical.  Anyway, I'm very sorry to hear about your loss of Iris cristata.  It's a favorite of mine.
