I was surprised by how much leaf damage Dutch xiphium hybrids can take
and still thrive. Some are up four or five inches already in the fall,
burn to the mulch line in winter, but just keep elongating come
spring. By the time they flower the damage is barely noticable. Too
bad the pure species aren't easily available.
